Pikeville, KY……The JTBA advanced around 50 bowlers to the 2021 Junior Gold Championships, held in Indianapolis, July 12-17.

On day 3, of qualifying, JTBA Standout Bowler, Carter Street, Dublin, Ohio, bowled one of the highest 3 games series in the History of the Junior Gold Championship, by putting games together 300, 276, 255 for 831 series, he added 224 for his 4th game of the block for a 4-game total of 1054. That is a 264 average! Carter was competiting in the U18 Boys division. Carter qualified 11th for match play. He was joined in match play by Angelo Biondo, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, who qualified 12th, and Nolan Blessing, Cincinnati, Ohio, qualified 15th. Just missing the cut for Match Play by 11 pins, was Brendan Salo, Centerville, Ohio 18th place; 30th place Josh Maslanich, North Royalton, Ohio; 32nd place Chris LeSueur, Kent, Ohio; 35th Place Matt Richards, Kent, Ohio; 37th Place Wesley Yazell, Lexington, KY; 46th place Austin Grammar, Hammersville, Ohio; 60th Place David Schaberg, Holt, Michigan; & 62nd Place Nicholas Manning, Marion, Ohio. There were 1169 U18 Boys in the event!

On the U18 girls side Jillian Martin, Stow, Ohio qualified 1st for Match Play. Just missing match play was 21st place Kirsten Moore, Tallmadge, Ohio; 26th Place Ranelle Ulanday, Union, KY; 43rd Place Hannah Rearick, Lebanon, Ohio; 52nd Place Mikayla Blair, Springfield, Ohio. There were 560 U18 girls in the event.

In the U15 Boys division, Aidan Furukawa qualified 6th place for Match Play. Just missing match play was 23rd place Roman Caporale, Fairview, PA; 31st Place Brendan Tahsler, Parma, Ohio. There were 631 U15 Boys in the event.

U15 Girls, Carlee Hohenbrink qualified 10th for Match Play. Just missing match play in 21st place was Abbie Leiendecker, Wooster, Ohio; Alexa Escamilla, Clarksville, IN 25th place. There were 298 U15 Girls in the event.

Finally in the U12 Boys division, Elliot Gordon, Columbus, Ohio finished 15th place & Andrew Parker, Miamisburg, Ohio finished 24th..

U12 Girls qualifing for match play were Savannah Portillo, Bellevue, Michigan 7th place & Sofia DeLuccia, Rockford, Michigan 8th Place.

The JTBA will again operate Junior Gold Qualifiers during the 2021-2022 season. Bowlers who wish to compete in the Junior Gold part of the JTBA events can register day of the event. The 2022 championships will be held in Grand Rapids, Michigan in July 2022.
